Get in touch and we can arrange a convenient time for me to visit you in your outdoor space.

During this meeting I will visit you in your garden and discuss what you currently like and dislike about your outdoor space. We will go over any ideas that you may have and also discuss what planting styles you like. Furthermore we will discuss what type of budget you may have so we can take this into consideration when choosing plants for the design before providing you with an estimate.

Before any design work can be carried out a drawn up site survey and analysis will need to be undertaken. This will enable me to professionally draw out a scaled design of your garden. The survey will consist of exact measurements of the garden, including any level changes, drains, access points, boundaries, window and door dimensions, any existing structures or plants you wish to retain within the design. This can be arranged on the day of the initial consultation or on another date convenient for you.

Once the site survey has been conducted I will go back to the studio and use what we have discussed in the initial meeting to write up a design brief. This will be referred to throughout the design process. This stage provides the concept for the design of your garden. It includes visualisations that will provide the look and feel of the space as well as palettes of plants for you to decide upon.
.

Once the planting palette has been agreed upon I can then progress to constructing the planting plan. This will show the position and quantity of plants required. Each planting plan is designed to suit your needs, location and garden style, it can be for just one bed or border or a whole garden. An elevation or an isometric drawing can be drawn to show visually how the design will look once the plants are fully established. It will ensure interest all year round, not only visually but also through scent and touch. I will create and draw up a planting plan and schedule list of all the plants. You will be provided with a hard copy planting plan and elevations of the proposed design as well as digital copies.

Once you have the planting plan it is up to you to decide if you would like to plant up as soon as possible or to plant it up when you feel ready. If deciding to plant out we can help when ordering plants at a discounted rate. If you wish to plant out yourselves and get hands on in your own garden I can be of assistance however you may require. I can also liaise with an external horticulturalists to provide a quote for the planting labour and any soil preparation needed before the job can begin. I will oversee the planting to ensure that the task is carried out as per the specifications of the design.

After planting, I can provide a maintenance guide for your garden. This will include a detailed breakdown of each plant's maintenance requirements along with coloured images to ensure your design is brought to life the way it was envisioned. If further help is desired, I offer 1 to 1 training sessions on the best way to look after your garden for an additional fee.

Before I became a Garden Designer I was awarded a first class degree in Ba (Hons) Architecture at Anglia Ruskin University. It was at this time my interest in sustainability peaked, being awarded with the most sustainable Final design project by Barr Gazetas. Although I enjoyed the design process , being outside of the architecture design studio is where I really found my passion. This was when I decided to spend three years studying Horticulture and Garden Design at the highly respected Capel Manor College in Enfield. It was at this time I developed my confidence in design and was able to forge professional relationships between practicing designers and experienced horticulturalists.
My time studying has allowed me to set up my own practice and combine my hands-on skills, structural drawing practice and my ability to envision outdoor spaces to provide clients with the highest quality planting plans designed to suit your style and budget. I am currently only able to offer planting design but will be expanding to full garden designs in the near future.
